Exciting Changes for Team Matthess

So as spring is coming to an end and summer creeps her head around the corner there are many exciting things happening for "Team Matthess". Sara in coming down the home stretch for the birth of our next / final child. Everyone is very excited to meet the newest member of our family, Isabelle insists she is going to be having a baby seestor (sister) as she puts it, even though we have tried to tell her it's going to be a boy. Which it makes it official that Isabelle will be the only girl for the children, even though she isn't the oldest I'm more then positive that her presence will not go unnoticed.

My love of coaching hasn't gone unnoticed as last season I was with CR Washington as their defensive coordinator for the Sophomore Team, I was very blessed to be a member of that staff. I feel I learned a ton from the varsity coaches as well as our Sophomore Head Coach Jason Wood. More than any other coach I have worked for I feel like I learned the most from him even in the short year I was there. Now by no means is this a slight against any of the other coaches I have worked for it's just I felt like he and I meshed so well and I could pick his brain on a multitude of topics. Which made the decision to leave CR Washington a very difficult one, but ultimately I had an offer to join the new staff at Clear Creek Amana as a varsity coordinator / offensive line coach and it was a position I couldn't turn down. Not a lot of schools are blessed to have the facilities that CC-A has which is something a lot of schools struggle with so it will be nice once the summer gets here to hit the ground running!!

Well I'll check back in once summer hits and Baby M gets closer to his arrival, hope everyone has a great rest of your spring!!

Updates on the family!

Hello! Well it's been way to long since I have posted. Yikes! Well since my last post obviously our family has grown by 1, with Miss Isabelle's birth. I LOVE being a mommy! It's all that I imagined and more. Watching all the milestones she keeps doing is such an incredible thing to watch. I love that she know who her mommy and daddy are. When we pick her up from day care she just gives us the biggest smile ever and flaps those arms like a little bird ready to take off.
Today she is 9 months. Where has the time gone? I feel like we were just at the hospital getting ready to have her and now she's 3 months away from turning 1. I'm already getting things ready for her party. You have to have a 1st birthday party. We are staying with the theme of bumble bees/Hawkeye colors. :)
She is getting her 1st tooth, scooting and pulling herself up. She just had her 1st ear infection. Poor thing was so miserable last weekend. There wasn't a whole lot Duane and I could do to make her comfortable except hold her.
She does so much babbling but she does get out da-da and ma-ma. So sweet.
The boys are doing awesome! They are getting so big. Tavius is going for sure past me up in height and Tate is not far behind him. They have had a fun summer. I'm not sure if they are ready to go back to school yet.

Lil spring update

So just a lil update on how Farrell's has gone, I've lost 50 lbs so far and a total of 17.5 inches off my body! This is just the start of my journey but I am looking forward to every step along the way. I've also decided to compete in a sprint triathlon, now I have no delusion that I can win this but just finishing the triathlon will be a great stride in the right direction.

Also would like to send out a huge congrats to some great friends Jason & Lori Darnell with the new addition they added to their awesome family. Ryker Wayne Darnell joined their family on 4/13/2011, I'm sure it won't be too long before he is wanting to help around the job site or shop with Dad!

Also along the same topic of friends I was able to back home to Tipton to see an old classmate of mine who was home from Colorado. It's funny how you can go years without seeing someone but when see them you pick up right where you left off. It's such a great feeling and makes you feel a lot younger when you start reminiscing about childhood memories =)

Lastly, the other night I had the privilege of running into former All Big Ten Defensive Back and future NFL player Tyler Sash. He has started the phrase Get Better Not Bitter which I've seen him actually sporting the shirts out & about #GBNB. I think it's great that Tyler is pushing the fact that there are no freebies in this world and you have what's coming to you by what you put into it.

Tyler was more than happy to pose for a picture with me here.

FXB

So come this Saturday I will be starting the first day of a life changing program, I am enrolling in Farrell's eXtreme Body Shaping which is long overdue. I have read reviews and spoke to numerous friends who have done this program and they have had nothing negative to say about this program.

I'm not going into this blind I know that to have the results I would like it's gonna have to be a lifestyle change. I have to get better on my diet which is why I'm cutting out pop from my life as well as other empty calorie foods. This program is 2/3 diet and 1/3 exercise. So this Saturday I will have my testing done on 1 mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, and my flexibility (sit-and-reach). I will post my results from the testing after this Saturday as I may be too tired to type all this out on Saturday night, haha.

So stay tuned on the upcoming results... :-)
